Whangamoas

Start Nelson, ride along Queen Elizabeth II Dr towards, Blenheim. Follow this road around the waterfront past Atawhai. Soon after Wakapuaka it begins to climb up Gentle Annie. Ride down the other side and past the Hira shop.

The Whangamoa climb begins gradually a few km later. Turn at the top and ride back to Nelson the way you came.

Cable Bay

For a slightly shorter and less hilly option follow the directions above to the Whangamoa Saddle but turn left when you reach the bottom of the other side of the Gentle Annie. The road to Cable Bay has a few km of flat before climbing and then descending gently into Cable Bay. The Road turns to gravel just before the beach begins.

Ride back to Nelson the way you came.
