When the Northern Hemisphere is freezing cold this winter, it will be summer in New Zealand and the Kiwivelo training camp is based in Nelson, the sunniest city in New Zealand.

But it is not just the weather that makes Nelson the perfect place to prepare for next season. The wonderful natural environment and clean air are fantastic, you will never want to go home, and there are more roads and bike tracks than you could ever ride in one summer.

If just training is not enough there are club races in Nelson every weekend. There is also the chance to get some 'easy' UCI points at the Tour of Southland or Tour of Wellington and the NZ Mountain Bike Series (UCI E2). The Ironman NZ is on each year in March and has 70 Kona slots available, and in November 2005 New Zealand is hosting a round of the ITU World Cup Triathlon race in New Plymouth.
